Jaune Arc is actually the most practical student amongst The Huntsman academies, solely because he actually attended normal public schools. Most of the Huntsman and Huntress students attended academies dedicated to training Huntsman candidates, so they were taught alot of things about fighting and things they would need to know as Huntsman, with minimal effort put into the other subjects except the bare minimum (basically teaching to the test for anything not related to killing monsters).
Meanwhile Jaune attended public school and got alot more practical lessons, general knowledge, and was taught the best practical study sessions and reasonings.
So, I imagine that the Major Huntsman academies like Beacon make their lessons harder for general Huntsman trained students. So, Ooblecks fast Speaking, Ports seemingly pointless boasting stories, Glynda's gladitorial fight pits, and most likely all the others, are designed to be harder for Huntsman students to understand.
Meanwhile, for Jaune, his only issue is a general lack of pre-existing knowledge on the base subjects and constantly being compared to the 3 best Beacon 1st year teams (regretfully, team CRDL is a well trained team and is probably the 3rd strongest team amongst 1st year students.)
Once he gets the base knowledge he needs he's using practical skills to better understand his teachers lessons. From recording Ooblecks lessons and playing them back later at 0.25× speed, he makes the lessons eligible to normal people's ears. When listening to ports lessons, he notes down the cliffnotes of his stories and is able to piece out all the important information that's been cleverly hidden inside them. He only still has issues in Glynda's combat class because he is being constantly compared to the best and brightest of his year, also being partnered with a 4 time tournament champion. If we look at his fighting during the entrance Exam, he's actually pretty skilled, but he's not an outstanding shining star like the rest of his team or team RWBY. If he fought any of the other students not part of the 3 strongest 1st year teams, I'd estimate there would be a chance he'd win more often, most likely 80% more than he was before. His lessons from Pyrrha were quickly rising his skill to slowly match the rest of his team.
Some would point to Team JNPR VS Team BRNZ as an example of Jaune not being all that strong, but they would also forget that the Vytal Festival is the best teams from all 4 Kingdoms gathered to fight, and Jaune is as strong as the average Huntsman, maybe slightly above average.
All this to say, that Jaune was alot more skilled than people give him credit for, even all these years later, and any adaptation of Jaune in fanfiction should remember that Jaune probably knows alot more about regular school than any of his friends and can casually bring up Home Ec and the terrible lunch food and almost all of them would be confused. dumbfounded even.

Hello hello!! Did Dahlia survive the Hour of Joy/aftermath? How do you think she’d be if she met the player???
She did— until Miss delight turned on all of them, she was one of the last to go though
She’d probably be like Miss delight, ward you off with messages kindly over an intercom then get pissed after you ignore her
She’d probably be a lot more remorsefully crazy in a way— depressive, her siblings massacred over paranoia yet she reluctantly works with Miss delight to keep that last shred of herself.. she’s still her sister even behind the destruction and madness. I could see her being one to potentially help the player save themselves from this madness.. she understands despite them being an employee.. a recognizable one at that. Though despite this she isn’t on poppy’s side— I can’t say she’d be happy hearing the few toys left are being killed, especially with mommy’s death
(rahhh story time, I know mommy is confirmed to be a child but I’m putting my fingers in my ears and yelling ‘LALALA-‘ /JJ. But essentially, I edited lore making mommy an adult when she was experimented on… I had the thought of mommy growing up in play care because she was never adopted nor eligible for testing by some means. She became an employee because the factory was all she ever knew and then was tested on.. even worse that she as the reason they even let her get so old without trying to test her in the game station. One of the multiple early tests on how it would work with grown adults, especially one raised by the factory itself. That said I had the silly thought of Dahlia teaching her as she started bordering adulthood.)

TCW Multigenerational timeloop AU
@cacodaemonia and @anxiousotters thank you for asking about the AU! 💖💖💖
it’s all because I am fascinated by what kind of societies/communities the clones would foster given the chance, time and space to do so and also because I wonder what happens to those survivors of o66 that we don’t hear about (and have not died T_T). And lastly, because I Am Not Immune To The Grandfather Paradox and how this can play out!
TLDR: surviving clones recover, rebuild their numbers & raise each other in a liminal place away from The War. Things are so every cycle the Oldest Generation will pass away and be reborn as the Youngest; knowledge needs to be taught from generation to generation. No one knows (not even me) if this cycle will break one day, but the clones do understand that every few cycles the stars are in position for them to mess with the GFFA time continuum. Will they? If yes, how? If not, what does this cycle of rebirth mean for the culture they choose to create?
Much longer rambling (and super rough sketches! At the end!) under the cut!
The rambling explanation:
I have 2 versions in mind:
The one with no legends characters (straight TCWs only), would probably need much ‘hand-wavy’ will of the force: some of the survivors find a pocket of time (inner core planet/sheltered galaxy like exagol that follows its own rules) and ~something~ causes them to be reborn at every cycle; example, you have old Dogma teaching a teenage Boil holding a toddler 99. In 40 years Dogma will be reborn and the cycle begins again. Plus, (vague idea) there is a temporal window that will allow them to ‘come back’ but only in the 10 years before and 10 years after TCW. They (I) don’t know if there are conditions to meet that will break any of their cycles.
the one with some Legends characters, what they find from the clones genetic research jumpstarts the hope to “fix” the galaxy. They find a remote planet in the inner core, set up embryo batches much like Kamino, raise themselves communally, wait their chance to understand ‘what is their purpose’. I would think Spar is around (instead of dying, sharing Jango’s memories in a sort of ‘Postmortem: what went wrong’), as well as Mereel (given he and the RepComm cast synthesised the cure). And I still like the idea of a time window, except this time is ‘with the power of pettiness, revenge, and this apocryphal force temple I found’ flavour, and it would allow them to mess with the TCW until they get the outcome they want.
So, my many questions that I am rotating for both AUs are:
In AU #2, which outcome would ‘strategy trained’ classes vs the troopers want for 3 millions of themselves? It would be an occasion to think about how different clone classes (Nulls Alphas CCs CTs etc) think of what ‘fixing’ something is. Also what kind of society do you create if your role is determined by your body type? And if you don’t have external stressors like pure survival, would you allow diversity? Would you level the playing ground by giving new generations access to the same modifications you have?
Would there be non-clones around? (It would be fun if every ‘Window in time’ cycle the clones grab a few key people - and see how they impact things).
In both AUs, if you could learn at the knee of a previous version of yourself, would you still be you? Maybe they have batches of clones eligible to ‘be’ one of ‘the originals’, chosen based on tests (because the early generations all they knew was testing). If you could prevent your future-past self, would you? How would a ‘4th generation Ponds’(from either AU) behave, if it was raised and taught with the experiences by previous versions of himself and the mistakes he made to try and save his men/Mace/Boba?
Would they enforce command top down (as this is all they have known), or would they learn/discover other ways to organise themselves?
Do you isolate yourself from the galaxy? Or do you live as if one day you will ‘rejoin’ it? And if you think that you need to ‘prepare’ for something, will you? Will you run? Will you allow those that do not want to fight (Slick, Cut), to not to?
NOTE: I realised that I didn’t mention any specific ships or characters because I tend to think in terms of worldbuilding first and this idea is so… formless… I can’t even begin listing of who would drive the narration here. I’m imagining a choral cast because rocks are hewn by hammering them one hundred times, rather than one single hit.
And the… very rough… sketches!! Mistakes abound. As you can tell I’m going for a vibe of ‘teenagers without the canon terrible stressors’.
Wow!! This is so much more than I thought I had to say about this AU! I always get stuck on such big questions that I can’t answer (I am just not a plotter enough to make them a believable story), as well as the sheer mountain of material I need to read (RepComm, the games, so many episodes in TCWs…)(I need 72 hours long days!!!)
but if you have any feedback, or if you want to play in this sandbox, please do feel free to do so!!! <3<3<3 And thank you if you made it this far in my rambles!!
#Star Wars#pers#I never remember the tag for my own stuff#Quatre things#Stories I don’t know where to put#This is. A lot of rambling.#mmmmmmmh.#I haven’t shared stories ideas since 2019. I don’t know how to feel!!!#but thank you!!!

✨Hello, 2024!✨
I'm excited to share with you a few projects I'm hoping to start posting this next year, while also branching out on some new things, such as new pairings, a different POV, and even an attempt at an original novel by myself. Cheers to the next year!
⌘Sweeter Than Fiction
(InuKag, modern au, strangers to lovers, librarian/hockey player au, eventual smut, fluff)
Summary: Kagome Higurashi is a loner, something that has never bothered her. She has her close friend, she has her favorite books she devours every chance she gets, a family who loves and supports her, and she is in her final year of college, with a dream to become a writer. Kagome’s content, but in reality, she wishes for adventures and excitement, much like the characters in her books. In steps the captain of her college’s hockey team, a rude, unruly, and cocky hanyou named Inuyasha Taisho, and suddenly, her whole world is turned upside down.
Keep an eye out for some fabulous art by @clearwillow with this one.
⌘How To Train Your Human
(InuKag, space/other world au, strangers to lovers, eventual smut, chaos, fluff, funny)
Summary: In their 250th year, every youkai receives their human familiar after they complete all the necessary tests and read the handbook on how to train their human. Even Inuyasha will, despite being the first half demon to do so. He expected a kind, docile human as described in said handbook, similar to how his mother was when she met his father. So what does he do when Kagome Higurashi, his human, is the exact opposite?
Keep an eye out for some fantastic art with this one by @heavenin--hell
⌘Terms and Conditions
(InuKag, modern au, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, eventual smut, angst, fluff)
Summary: After the disastrous day I had, there were two things I was certain of. One, Inuyasha Taisho, the country’s most eligible bachelor, was going to be my fiancé, and eventual husband. Two, we might kill each other before we ever make it to the altar.
Also planning some fabulous art with @brain-rot-hour for this one as well.
⌘Gifts for amazing people in this fandom.
I've been working with a select few others in creating gifts for the amazing readers, writers, artist, creators of this fandom, so be on the look out for some one-shots and drabbles of our favorite half demona and modern miko, along with new pairings that I'm dipping my toes into.
⌘Becoming Theirs (An Original Novel)

Epilogue Chapter to 12 Days of Smutmas: InuKag Edition
Sequel to A Deal With A Demon
Bird In A Cage (InuKag, strangers to lovers, dark and twisty, feudal era and modern au, fluff, first time, teaching, smut.) Summary: Kagome finds herself escaping a fate bestowed upon and stumbles upon a whole new world, where not all are who they seem to be.

A White history teacher accused a California teachers union of discriminating against him on the basis of his skin color and called the move "disgusting."
Isaac Newman, a teacher in the Elk Grove School District, on Friday filed a federal lawsuit against his local National Education Association affiliate for allegedly violating his Title VII civil rights. The suit alleged that the Elk Grove Education Association formed a seat on its executive board that was only available to candidates of color, meaning Newman wasn't eligible.
"It's disgusting, and that's why I'm suing," he told Fox News Digital in an interview.
"My union barred me from a leadership position simply because of the color of my skin," he said, discussing the suit. "I'm prohibited from running for a leadership position simply because of my race. This kind of racial litmus test is illegal, and it's un-American, and that's why I'm taking them to court."
In 2023, Elk Grove Education Association officials voted to create a "BIPOC At-Large" seat on its executive board, a position limited only to people who "self-identify" as "African American (Black), Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawai’ian, Pacific Islander, Latino (including Puerto Rican), Asian, Arab, and Middle Eastern," according to the suit.
"Plaintiff Isaac Newman is a white [EGEA] member who wants to run for union office to address the District’s recent adoption of what he believes to be aggressive and unnecessary Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) policies," reads the lawsuit, filed by The Fairness Center, a legal group focused on representing "those hurt by public-sector union officials."
The suit asked the court to "declare the BIPOC Position unlawful" and prevent the union "from creating any similar positions in the future where candidate eligibility is, in whole or in part, based on race."
Newman said the alleged discrimination was "frightening," as was the prevalence of critical race theory in society's culture.
"I'm actually really frightened for my children," he said, "when we look to a future where people are being taught [critical race theory]."
Newman believes that DEI ideology pushes hostile messages that focus on a person's skin color as opposed to their expertise and knowledge.
"The message there is that as a White teacher in a district that is very diverse, my students can't learn from me," he said. "It's abhorrent, and it's flatly wrong."
Newman told Fox News Digital that after disagreeing with the union pushing "aggressive" DEI agendas in the district, he decided to run for an executive seat to challenge the status quo.
"I'm looking to see my district and union back away from this fantastically toxic ideology, back away from DEI and embrace merit and individuality," he said. "I'm hoping to see that other teachers, other people in similar organizations, will stand up."
Newman said he was not alone in his opposition to DEI in school districts.
"Most people who think like me are unwilling to speak up," he said. "There are a lot of teachers [who are silent], and it's not really a conservative or liberal thing."
"There are a lot of teachers who recognize that meritocracy, colorblindness are at the core of good teaching," Newman added. "What's shocking is in these DEI trainings, they actually call out colorblindness and meritocracy as racist myths. And of course, if you're dedicated to that, well, then you're going to have division, and you're going to have mediocrity."
Fox News Digital reached out to the Elk Grove union for comment.
"Teachers’ unions don’t get a pass from laws that prohibit racial discrimination," said Fairness Center President and general counsel Nathan McGrath. "The Civil Rights Act explicitly forbids unions from discriminating based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin and from segregating members based on these attributes."

Non-paywall version here.
"Shawna Freeman Lane, 34, continued to teach college-level business by laptop after she gave birth by C-section in 2017. Her husband, Eric Lane, was home with her in Fircrest, Wash., for three weeks. The same thing happened in 2018, when their second child was born—except this time, Mr. Lane only got two weeks at home.
Having to leave his still-healing wife in the lurch was hard for Mr. Lane, as was tracking his children’s development via text messages while at work. But when their third was born last May, things were different. In 2020, Washington state had passed a new law entitling working parents to 12 weeks of paid leave, to bond with their newborn.
“It felt like winning the lottery, honestly,” said Mr. Lane, who stayed home for six weeks after their son was born, then another six weeks when Ms. Freeman Lane went back to work.
They are part of an explosion in the number of workers taking parental leave. In the 12 months through February [2023], a monthly 406,000 workers were absent on average due to paid or unpaid parental leave, up 13.5% from 2021, according to Labor Department data. The 478,000 working parents absent in January was the most since records began in 1994.
One driver behind the upswing is likely the increase in births in the past two years versus the prepandemic trend. The pandemic itself may also be a factor, as lockdowns and Covid kept many workers home.
But the main factor appears to be government and employer policies. While the U.S. remains the only advanced economy without nationally mandated paid parental leave, the share of workers with access to leave is growing, to 25% in March last year versus 19% in 2019, according to the Labor Department. Seven states plus the District of Columbia now require employers to provide paid leave, up from four in 2018, while private employers are also expanding the benefit. Four more states will require paid parental leave by 2026.
“As the state laws have passed, there has been a culture change, and more awareness and support for mothers and—especially—fathers around taking leave,” said Jane Waldfogel, a public affairs professor at Columbia University.
A greater propensity by fathers to take leave is an important contributor. The number of men on parental leave tripled to an average of 76,500 in the six months ended in February [2023] from five years earlier, whereas the number of women rose 11% to 336,000, according to census data.
More parental leave-taking benefits the economy in the impact on families’ well-being, said Emily Oster, economics professor at Brown University—ranging from near-term outcomes such as infant mortality rates to longer-term measures, including child test scores and adult earnings. “In this sense, leave now is an investment in the economic future,” Ms. Oster said...
Leave policies are a small but increasingly key way that firms compete for workers, according to Julia Pollak, chief economist at ZipRecruiter. About 3% of currently active online job postings nationwide explicitly advertise parental leave, about a fivefold increase from before the pandemic, ZipRecruiter data show.
Industries seeing the biggest increase are retail, and transportation and warehousing, said Ms. Pollak—something she calls the “Amazon effect.” The e-commerce giant was at the forefront of offering parental-leave benefits, prompting competitors to do the same...
Parents are also taking longer leaves. The typical mother now takes 120 days of bonding leave, up from 110 in 2019, and the median father is out for 60 days, a 15-day increase, according to Sparrow, a leave-management platform. New York state family bonding claims data show a similar trend, with moms claiming 9.9 weeks in 2021, a three-week gain from 2018, and dads extending their average leave by 2.3 weeks, to 6.9...
“My son is so much fun now. He’s getting to the stage where he’s his own human,” [Jonathan Leslie, a 36-year-old software engineer] said. “Having the open-ended play with him—that opportunity won’t come again.”

How were you all raised at Wammy's? Were all of you like made to be L's mini me's? Or did they have you specialized into specific fields you excelled in? What's the selection process even?
Near is lining up a collection of Sylvanian Families in a neat row as he answers the question.
"As is common knowledge, Wammy's used to be a school where children abandoned by the world would be given the resources to develop their talents and become prodigies in things they were passionate about. After L quickly rose to the top and became the world's greatest detective, however, the structure changed drastically. With Watari gone more often, Roger was left in charge, and the original aspirations of the school were lost. Roger noticed the success L brought to the orphanage in large amounts of money, and he got greedy. He didn't want that money to just vanish once something happened to L, so he suggested a successor program to L and Watari, who believed it was a good idea."
Near has moved on from organizing the dolls to using them to act out what he's saying. A grey persian cat is a stand-in for Watari, a grey labrador for Roger, and a black persian for L.
"At first, the program was opt-in, but then they started doing yearly tests on all the children to determine if they were 'eligible' for the program. At seven years old, I was opted in, and from then on, they trained me intellectually to solve cases. Luckily, I quite enjoy puzzles, so the schooling itself wasn't the hard part. I quickly rose to the top, but that didn't make things easy. They never cared to teach me how to actually handle being L in a real scenario, so all I know how to do is analyze patterns and come up with plans. My caregivers have to help take care of me, execute plans, give orders on my behalf, and help me handle all the danger that comes in a job like this. I've grown to resent my position, because not only do I know there are kids at Wammy's who's special needs are disregarded due to not being in the successor's program and therefore not seen as 'worth the cost', but the ones who are have been given half the knowledge to solve cases and the order to fix the world as we know it. Unfortunately, I understand why L became so detached and cruel when it came to being a detective."

J.M.C Room 2 2/2
Calie Minx: Calie (Mime Jester Pomni Calie) would be part of the Jester group but in the second room as there was not enough in room 1. She would be silent as the principle did give her a voice, but she prefer not to speak out as she wish to be by her own thoughts, she would watch the others just doing things as she study and go quite well as a student as she would also hang out with Punk and the other two Jesters as well as some other people as to gain a sort of friendship that doesn't resolve a lot of fighting. Calie would enjoy a bit of reading and the stories it tells and also feel free in this real world. Harper Powers: Harpy (Horror Pomni) would be forced to be a part of this as the principle would have beaten her in a game of rock, paper, scissors and that she now be part of the campus. Though that doesn't mean she could conduct evil plans as she would wish to take over the campus or be the leader of it all by getting things that makes one on top in college. She studies, does some tricks, wearing some eligible clothes, and also train or skills in sports, she would have her acquaintance to be with her as she didn't want to come alone as she and them would be doing whatever types of terror bad deeds to try and get on top in college. Cassidy Jule Peace: Cassidy (Chatter Jester) would be Harpy acquaintance as she would help her with the deeds of terror and bad things as to get Harpy on top, but Cassidy would also go and learn a bit more on other things as she would enjoy a bit of experimenting and science biology as well as eating some fruit snacks as it keeps her thrilled and just wondering on if she could break apart and be back together like outside in the digital worlds. She sometimes would see the others and enjoy the sight of what they do and, on their skills, as she would think of making testing them for science purposes…or worse…Cassidy would get a thrill with this thought. Able Tok: Able is this world is a teacher like Earl as he would go and teach the students all types of learning, such as technology, math, and also English as to get to reading. He is a nice guy that is always there to help with any question and would assist on those if they have a problem. Able would be quite the curious teacher as he wonders on who these students are and where they come from at times but would try to ignore as he wishes not to be a disturbance to them. He likes reading, as it gives him thought and wonder of making stories of his own and see if anyone could like it, but he first must try to finish his teaching degree to gain the money he needed.

Alyssa Tirrell at MMFA:
In late December, USA Boxing released a new set of guidelines for the inclusion of trans competitors, and right-wing media responded by criticizing the regulations, relying on anti-trans tropes and misinformation in their coverage. GOP members of Congress have since introduced twin legislation that promises to ban all trans competitors from the Olympic and amateur levels in any sport, citing the new regulations as a motivating concern and repeating the anti-trans framing popularized by right-wing media's backlash.
While the USA Boxing guidelines are a departure from a trend of sports organizations banning trans participation, the requirements are considered stringent. Athletes under the age of 18 must compete “as their birth gender,” and adult competitors are required to obtain genital surgery and regular hormone testing, both in the four years preceding competition and throughout any competitive period. Nevertheless, right-wing media are attacking the rules, which USA Boxing says build on the consensus of several medical groups and international athletic federations. On January 3, Fox News' America's Newsroom co-host Dana Perino referred to the eligibility requirements for trans female boxers as “nonsense.” Hosts and guests repeatedly referred to trans women as “men” or “guys,” and co-host Bill Hemmer quoted former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines' claim that “it will take a woman getting killed before these misogynistic fools wake up.” Fox’s Outnumbered also said a woman could die because of the new rules, arguing that the regulations would lead to “one-punch killings.” Co-host Harris Faulkner cited Gaines' campaign against the inclusion of trans swimmers, misgendering Gaines' former competitor Lia Thomas in the process and expanding the panel's criticism to trans inclusion in noncontact athletic competitions as well.
Despite such concerns over safety, coverage disregarded USA Boxing's medical citations, which include the recommendations of Boston Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine and Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital. Instead, for instance, The Ingraham Angle platformed the perspective of UFC fighter Colby Covington, who argued that “it doesn't matter what their hormone levels or pronouns are,” because “when they dig up their bones in 200 years, their bones won't leave pronouns.” (Actually, archeologists are capable of imputing that a skeleton may have belonged to a transgender person after more than 200 years.) [...] USA Boxing responded to backlash by restating that it is in compliance with federal law. The following day, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) introduced twin legislation in both the House and the Senate that would “prohibit any governing body recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) from allowing men to participate in any athletic event intended for females.”
A joint press release cited the USA Boxing guidelines and repeated right-wing media's anti-trans framing. Tuberville's statement claimed that “men should not be competing in women’s sports at any level—and especially not in a sport like boxing. Whether in little league or the Olympics, it’s unsafe, it’s unfair, and it’s just plain wrong. This bill will ensure that the Olympics are fair to American women who train their whole lives to represent our country on the world stage.” The press release also cited the support of a number of anti-trans organizations, including the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Independent Women's Forum, and the Independent Council on Women’s Sports and quoted several anti-trans figures, including American Principles Project President Terry Schilling and — yet again — Riley Gaines.
Right-wing media pundits, led by anti-trans grifter Riley Gaines, is leading the backlash against USA Boxing's trans-inclusive policy.

“I mean, she can’t even drive,” Biles said. “Should we teach her how to drive before she gets to Paris? Jeez! She’s so young. She’s so cute. She’s so smart. She’s beautiful. We’re really proud of her for making this team, and we’re really excited to kind of show her the ropes. At least she doesn’t have to do it alone. She has four veterans that have been there before.”
Across the two-day national championships and both nights of the Olympic trials, Rivera has scored at least a 13.700 on all four bars and beam routines. She entered Sunday’s competition knowing those events were most critical to her Olympic hopes, and then she showcased her potential under pressure. Rivera started the meet by working through a difficult routine on bars with superb execution to score a 14.300, a mark only Lee could top. On beam, she was precise and steady — while gymnasts such as Biles, Lee and Chiles all had falls — and she scored a 14.275, the best score of the evening on that apparatus.
This roster features the top five finishers from the Olympic trials, but more importantly, the pieces fit together in a way that maximizes the team’s score. Joscelyn Roberson and Tiana Sumanasekera were also in the mix because of their fantastic showings on beam at the trials, but they have lower scoring potential on bars. They’re both solid on floor, but so are the four Tokyo Olympians. Leanne Wong scored at least a 13.900 on bars twice at the trials, but her beam scores weren’t as high.
Rivera was the only option who had the right combination of strengths. It didn’t matter that she had never competed at a world championships or that she only became age-eligible this year to compete at the senior level. Rivera has performed internationally several times, including at last year’s junior world championships, but the pressure of the Olympic stage will be her most challenging test yet.
Giving Rivera the opportunity to compete in Paris is “also investing in our future,” Quinn said, adding that she could be a contender for the 2028 Games.
Even though Rivera won the junior national all-around title in 2023, this Olympic berth seemed improbable, especially given the expected depth of the field as many American gymnasts have continued their elite careers into their 20s. At the U.S. Classic in mid-May, Rivera finished 24th in the all-around after a performance derailed by mistakes. She rebounded at nationals but still entered trials as long shot to make the team.

Chapter 210 Trivia
This is it everyone. We're going to get Ruri and the others back finally. I haven't been this excited for the next chapter since chapter 209.
Two people are using drills of some sort since they have wires leading away from them, but Yo is stuck using a pick-axe and hitting things wildly, spinning like the other fighters do when mining.
To make bauxite into aluminum, you need two processes: the Bayer process, to turn it into aluminum oxide, and the Hall–Héroult process to turn that into aluminum. Both are energy intensive, and even these days use hydroelectric power to reduce costs and carbon footprint.
The Hall-Héroult process involves dissolving the aluminum oxide in cryolite, which is a compound that contains the fluorite they acquired in Spain.
Duralumin (DURable ALUMINum) is an aluminum-copper alloy that has been age-hardened (heat treated) in such a way that gives it better strength at higher temperatures, perfect for the rocket. In addition to copper, it usually contains manganese and magnesium.
Once again we have proof of the big, happy family that is the Kingdom of Science: using each others' words.
I couldn't find where the power cost for Apollo's aluminum came from, (it's possible Kurare calculated it?) but I can convert 3 billion yen to USD: 27,309,975$ or about 27.3 million dollars.
Kaseki not reacting because he doesn't know the value of a yen is pretty funny too.
The timeline is still fairly vague at this point since we don't know how much time has passed after October 1st, but if this bird here is an eastern great egret, we can at least say it's not March yet, since the bird has a black beak during the breeding season (March-May).
There's several cities with arrows here but there's also two extras, and the Rubber City one is still missing…
I'm wondering if the top unlabelled arrow is somehow for the moon, as that's possibly where the medusa came from?
What a way to find out that you're immortal… Poor Ukyo. He's probably heard a lot of secret things this chapter because of people yelling…
I'm wondering how they got up there since there's no visible access hatch and I'd be concerned about falling from that height if they climbed up out the windows.
Rooftop bonding is always nice though :)
"You say 'amateur' as if it was a dirty word. 'Amateur' comes from the Latin word 'amare', which means to love. To do things for the love of it." - Mozart in the Jungle
(I know that's not really trivia, I simply think the quote suits Chrome and that he should hear it. Not that Chrome knows what Latin is, haha!)
Somehow I don't think this endeavor will be kept a secret for long, since he's yelling on top of a tower in the direction of the boat Ukyo is currently on.
Also he's known to not be able to keep secrets, yet can also keep them when needed?
We don't know Sai's age, but if we compare it to Ryusui's timeline (the racetrack flashback) and Senku's ages (the rocket flashback and petrification), he couldn't have been away from Nanami Corp. for longer than 5 years.
Assuming Sai hadn't already graduated high school, he wouldn't have really had enough time to become a professor, since that takes 6-8 years.
There's no age limit on being a professor, but Sai would need to have a Master's degree to be eligible, and then still need to take other tests and training. He may have been a tutor or a teaching assistant instead.
Chrome has written absolutely nothing down, but Suika has several pages full on her desk already. It's also amusing how Suika, the one who needs glasses and is significantly shorter, is sat behind Chrome.
I believe "Mathematics by Sai" may be the first properly bound, hardcover book in the Stone World too.

Some part of me must have died the first time you called me (and some part of me came alive)
I don't know what's up with me. I seem to lack the power to keep it short with these two (and the will).
Day 29 - Cloudy
He felt her presence through the ether long before she approached the door to his chambers. Her presence had become familiar, even something he looked forward to amidst his days.
He lifted his eyes from the book he had been reading and turned them to the tall windows on his right. It was a cloudy day, but the rain perched stubbornly on the edge of the clouds, refusing to fall. He watched as her shape crossed the lawn, moving from the Apparition point to the front door. Her dark curls being blown in the wind, her cloak and dress being pushed against her shape from the side.
He had taught her for years now, in private. He trained all his followers, setting them up against each other, but she had always been special.
Her daring look across the ballroom at Black Manor, that she did not lower neither when he met her eyes nor when her father ordered her to.
Her stare when she had first volunteered, her head bowing but her grey eyes squarely on his.
He had always been a flame to the darkest of their circle. People naturally flocked to him, ambitious people were quick to see his potential. She had always been different. Dark, darker than all of them, her mind sharp, her wand wicked, her hands fast. She was easy to teach, and easier to keep around.
She was married now, seemed happily so, yet something had changed. Her attraction had been obvious from the start, but she genuinely loved Rodolphus. They had been friends since childhood, and expected to marry for at least ten years before they actually did. They were both the most eligible in their generation, it was an easy match.
Something had changed in between the two of them. His forced proximity while teaching her, a decoy to test her ability to remain focused, had backfired somewhere along the way. She was a beautiful creature, but her mind was a wonder to him. His frequent invasions of it had only lured him further in.
The truth of it was that he wanted her. In another world, where he had not been raised in an orphanage, she would not have been married to Rodolphus. Cygnus would have offered her hand to him.
Lord Voldemort reminded himself that such things were beneath him. He had no wish to marry - there was no one worthy enough, since Bellatrix was married already. He snuffed that thought. They would have been an indomitable pair.
Her presence was closer, much closer now. Just beyond the doors, if he had to guess. And her mind was wide open for him.
Unlike the others, who tried to disguise his feelings and true state of mind around him, she was an open book. She wanted to be with him, she wanted to please him. And she was beaming with excitement today.
Her palm against the wards on the door to his study drove a shiver down his spine. He took a second to collect himself, then waved his hand towards the door.
Bellatrix walked in, smiling, twirling her wand in her hands.
“What have you done, you rotten creature?” he asked, baring his teeth.
His body could not tolerate the distance she had put between them by standing well away from the desk, her head bowed but her eyes looking up from beneath her eyelashes, the effect made maddeningly charming by her heavy eyelids. So it moved of its own volition, standing up and walking to meet her halfway.
“I found someone, my Lord.”
He gulped. He liked it entirely too much when she called him that.
“Out with it, Bella,” he said. He extended his hand to her wand.
“I found Prott,” she said, relinquishing her wand to him.
“And what of it?”
He took a second to examine the crooked piece of walnut wood that he held. It nearly hummed in his fingers, still hot from being used. Nothing overtly dark, but hurtful all the same.
“He’s furious the Aurors did not take him in. Thinks himself entirely worthy of their Office.”
“If the Aurors do not want him, why would I?”
“He wouldn’t be one of us, my Lord. He might be persuaded to work for us at the Ministry, though. He was offered a place as a clerk, after all.”
Lord Voldemort covered the distance between them in two strides. He towered over Bellatrix, handing her wand back.
“And have you done something to assure he remains on our side?”
“He took some persuasion, my Lord, but I can vouch for his allegiance. And remind him of it should he ever falter.”
Her wicked smile lit up her eyes. Lord Voldemort looked into them, admiring the way they reflected the light of the cloudy day, becoming almost the same as the colour of the sky.
He was the moth to her flame, this time.
His hand flew to her chin, lifting her face up. Before he could stop it, his right hand had moved to cradle her sharp jawline. She stepped in closer, her fingers clutching the fabric at his sleeve and cuff, not daring to touch him.
She wanted him, he knew that much. He had never expected to want her this way.
He lowered his lips to hers, but stopped before meeting them. He hovered above her, feeling her breath on his skin.
“Master,” she whispered, her voice low, her usual pitch dropping down to something carnal.
He kissed her. Because he wanted to, he told himself. Because he could no longer help it, he knew.
Her flame devoured him, while his mouth devoured hers.
Something shifted in him. In that barren place he called a heart, the thing the world swore he did not have, her flame had lit something he would never snuff out.
